I don't know why this happened to Webdongle: if the site notified of an update, how was the notification sent? In my case, I received an email notification (for a website that was at Joomla 5.1.0) about the availability of v 5.1.1. In my case, the Update Options were set, as per usual, with
Update Channel: Default
Minimum Stability: Stable
I understand from what pe7er wrote that if a website was using Joomla 4 and the update channel was set to next then one would receive an email notification about the availability of v 5.1.1. From what Webdongle wrote, however, this does not seem to have been the case. That's strange.
My site displayed the ability to update to v 5.1.1 without any complications. Perhaps it was a caching issue in Webdongle's situation?
